gallery Baby Registry Guide

My baby shower is tomorrow and I’m so excited to get all the essentials I need! This is my first pregnancy so we’re starting from scratch here. My husband and I are the last couple from our group of friends and siblings to have a baby so not only did we get amazing hand me downs but we also got the best advice on what to register for!

I felt completely lost on what to add to the registry so I wanted to take all the advice I’ve received to make a registry guide for new moms like me. The one thing I did know was that I wanted to Create my Baby Registry on Amazon. We are Amazon Prime members we use it frequently. Thinking ahead and knowing I would need to purchase some of the remaining items that we didn’t receive as gifts, I knew I wanted to take advantage of the 15% off completion discount and the free 2-day shipping. You can also earn free diapers and wipes through an Amazon Baby Registry. Once $1,000 worth of qualifying purchases have been made through your registry, you get $100 towards diapers and wipes.  I also love that you can add items from any website to the baby registry by using the Amazon Wishlist Button. My registry has items from Amazon, Target, Wal-mart, Babies-R-Us, Buy-Buy Baby, Etsy, Caden Lane and more! I didn’t have to choose just one store which was amazing.

Lastly, I love that Amazon will suggest things to you based on what you’ve added to your registry. There’s no way you can think of everything so once you add an item to your registry it brings you to page that offers suggestions based on what other moms have added.

I am going to break down this registry guide into sections

Bathing Essentials

#1 – Save your knees and bathe your baby comfortably with this Aquatopia Deluxe Safety Easy Bath Kneeler#2 -There’s no need guess if the water is too hot, too cold or just right with this Bath Tub Thermometer

#3 – You’ll need a bath tub for the baby available in pink or blue – The First Years Sure Comfort Deluxe Newborn To Toddler Tub #4 -Having a KidCo Bath Toy Organizer Storage Basket with help you keep all the bath toys organized

#5 – Make bath time fun with these Cartoon Puppet Bath Mitts

#6 – Bath Toys – There are so many to choose from, browse the whole section to pick your favorites. I personally liked these light up rubber animals

# 7 – Bath Towels & Bath Robe

#8 – Wash baby’s hair with this tear free rinser

#9 – You’ll need to use a bath wash – The Johnson & Johnson Bedtime Bathwash  is popular and smells amazing!! If you’re wanting to stick with something organic you can use The Honest Co. Calming Lavender Bath Wash

Nursery Essentials –

Furniture, Tech, Accessories & More!

#1 – Crib: my advice here is to purchase a convertible crib. This one that I registered for will turn into a toddler bed and eventually a full size bed! Child Craft Elin™ 4-in-1 Convertible Crib. I picked my furniture from Target .com and stuck with the same brand so they would match.crib.jpg

#2 – Child Craft Abbott™ Double Dresser – Matte White

Child Craft Abbott™ Double Dresser - Matte White

#3 – Child Craft Abbott™ Dressing Table – Matte White

child craft changing table

#4 – You’ll want a glider to feed and rock the baby before bed. This Delta Furniture Emerson Upholstered Glider is a popular choice!

#5 – If you’d like a nightstand next to the glider, this one matches the set above – Child Craft Abbott™ Night Stand – Matte White

nightstand

#6 – This Graco Premium Foam Crib and Toddler Bed Mattress is highly rated and super affordable!

#7 – Some great advice I received was to get at least 2 Waterproof Fitted Crib and Toddler Protective Mattress Pad Covers. Put one on the mattress, then your sheet. Put another one on top of the sheet and add your second set of sheets. This way, if baby has an explosive diaper or spits up in bed in the middle of the night, you can just rip a layer off and the bed will be made.

# 8 – Sheets. You might want to stick with a 2-pack white set like these American Baby Company 2 Piece 100% Cotton Value Jersey Knit Crib Sheets so you’ll have a back up set and you can easily bleach them clean.

#9 – Every mom I know uses a sound machine when they put the baby down to sleep. This Big Red Rooster BRRC107 Sound Machine, 6 Sounds has 4.5 stars out of over 2,600 reviews! It’s safe to say, this is a safe choice.
#10 – Baby Monitor – There are so many options out there. I put my husband in charge of doing research to pick the best one for us. The hardest choice was deciding between a wi-fi camera we could see on our phones or selecting a non-wifi and use the screen it comes with. For reliability purposes we went with this non-wifi monitor – Infant Optics DXR-8 Video Baby Monitor with Interchangeable Optical Lens. It had 4.5 stars out of over 13,000 reviews. You can’t beat that!

#11 -You NEED the Owlet Smart Sock 2 Baby Monitor for safety and peace of mind. If you haven’t heard of it it’s a cotton fabric sock that baby wears to bed. The Owlet Smart Sock baby monitor measures your baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels and notifies parents in real-time if something appears to be wrong. It uses cutting edge technology: Owlet uses clinically-proven pulse oximetry in conjunction with bluetooth and a custom app to watch over your little one while they sleep. This is the best way to prevent SIDS.

#12- Swaddles – I’ve heard nothing but great things about the 100% ORGANIC cotton muslin swaddle blankets

#13 – These Swaddle Blanket, Adjustable Infant Baby Wrap Set by Ziggy Baby make swaddling extremely easy with the velcro wrap!

#14 -You’ll want baby to have somewhere to sleep and play if you’re not home. This Graco Pack ‘N Play with Newborn Napper Elite, Vance has everything you need to make that possible. New moms have also said they used this beside their bed before baby slept in the crib.

#15 -Protect your changing pad cover with these Munchkin Waterproof Changing Pad Liners, 3 Count

Car Seat & Stroller Travel System Essentials

#1 – We decided on the Graco Modes Travel System Stroller, Davis . I was set on having a travel system so that I would be able to take the car seat out of the car and click it into the stroller. Babies frequently fall asleep in the car and I wanted the option to take the seat out without waking the baby. Travel systems typically only come with an infant car seat. The stroller will still be usable but we will need to upgrade to a toddler car seat.

#2 – We also registered for an additional car seat base so the car seat would fit in dad’s car too! Graco SnugRide Click Connect 30/35 LX Infant Car Seat Base, Black

#3 – Britax Back Seat Mirror

Feeding/Breastfeeding Essentials

#1 -The Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump with On the Go Tote  is the creme de la creme of breast pumps! It truly comes with all the bells and whistles.

#2 – Make clean up easy with Medela Quick Clean Breast Pump and 40 Piece Accessory Wipes

#3- You’ll want this Medela Breastmilk Bottle Spare Parts WITH Three Medium-Flow Wide Base Nipples so you’ll have plenty of bottle accessories handy to always have a clean body ready for to use.

#4 -You’ll need bottles – Medela Breastmilk Bottle Set, 8 Ounce

#5 – Infants need a slower feeding nipple on the bottle. Use the Medela 3 Piece Wide Base Slow Flow Nipple, 0-4 Months

#6 – Use Medela Breast Milk Collection and Storage Bottles, 5 Ounce, 6 Count to store milk by pumping directly into the bottle.

#7 – Use Lansinoh Breastmilk Storage Bags With Convenient Pour Spout and Patented Double Zipper Seal to store and freeze breast milk.

#8 -Wear Lansinoh Stay Dry Disposable Nursing Pads for a discrete, comfortable way to soak up leaking breast milk.

#9 – Lansinoh Breastfeeding Salve will help soothe and protect sore, dry and cracked nipples.

#10 – Use the Medela Quick Clean Micro-Steam Bags, 5 Count  to thoroughly disinfect most breast pump accessories, bottles, nipples, pacifiers and cups. Steam cleaning eliminates 99.9% of most common bacteria and germs.

#11 – The First Years Quick Serve Bottle Warmer warms breast milk, formula and baby food jars in minutes. There is an auto shut-off for added safety and is compatible with most bottles.

#12 – Medela Contact Nipple Shield, Medium can help aid in continued breastfeed when experiencing difficulties.

Miscellaneous Essentials

#1 – Diapers: Pampers Swaddlers are the #1 selling diaper on Amazon. Add several sizes to your registry!

#2 – Wipes: Pampers Baby Wipes Sensitive . I suggest registering for sensitive wipes because there is no way of knowing how sensitive your baby’s skin will be. A mom-friend said definitely get the pop-top refills for added ease!

#3 – Having a bed time routine improves sleep and gets baby ready for bed. Massaging the baby with lavender lotion before bed is a suggested bedtime activity. Use this Honest Calming Lavender Hypoallergenic Face And Body Lotion

#21 – Linkax Baby Magnetic Locks Safety Cabinet Locks allows you to baby proof your kitchen cabinets and drawers without drilling. It’s invisible from the outside and uses a magnetic system to unlock.

#22 – Skip Hop Chelsea Downtown Chic Diaper Backpack – I love the idea of using a diaper bag backpack rather than a shoulder bag. It’s easier on the neck and back and allows for additional mobility while holding your little one!

#23 – Halo Bassinest Swivel Sleeper LUXE PLUS Gray Melange the perfect bassinet for bedside sleeping!

#24 – HALO Bassinest Newborn Insert
