My baby shower is tomorrow and I’m so excited to get all the essentials I need! This is my first pregnancy so we’re starting from scratch here. My husband and I are the last couple from our group of friends and siblings to have a baby so not only did we get amazing hand me downs but we also got the best advice on what to register for!

I felt completely lost on what to add to the registry so I wanted to take all the advice I’ve received to make a registry guide for new moms like me. The one thing I did know was that I wanted to Create my Baby Registry on Amazon. We are Amazon Prime members we use it frequently. Thinking ahead and knowing I would need to purchase some of the remaining items that we didn’t receive as gifts, I knew I wanted to take advantage of the 15% off completion discount and the free 2-day shipping. My registry has items from Amazon, Target, Wal-mart, Babies-R-Us, Buy-Buy Baby, Etsy, Caden Lane and more! I didn’t have to choose just one store which was amazing.

Lastly, I love that Amazon will suggest things to you based on what you’ve added to your registry. There’s no way you can think of everything so once you add an item to your registry it brings you to page that offers suggestions based on what other moms have added.

#1 – Crib: my advice here is to purchase a convertible crib. This one that I registered for will turn into a toddler bed and eventually a full size bed! Child Craft Elin™ 4-in-1 Convertible Crib. I picked my furniture from Target .com and stuck with the same brand so they would match.

#7 – Some great advice I received was to get at least 2 Waterproof Fitted Crib and Toddler Protective Mattress Pad Covers. Put one on the mattress, then your sheet. Put another one on top of the sheet and add your second set of sheets. This way, if baby has an explosive diaper or spits up in bed in the middle of the night, you can just rip a layer off and the bed will be made. 

# 8 – Sheets. You might want to stick with a 2-pack white set like these American Baby Company 2 Piece 100% Cotton Value Jersey Knit Crib Sheets so you’ll have a back up set and you can easily bleach them clean.

Car Seat & Stroller Travel System Essentials

#1 – We decided on the Graco Modes Travel System Stroller, Davis . I was set on having a travel system so that I would be able to take the car seat out of the car and click it into the stroller. Babies frequently fall asleep in the car and I wanted the option to take the seat out without waking the baby. Travel systems typically only come with an infant car seat. The stroller will still be usable but we will need to upgrade to a toddler car seat.
